Kathy Hester lives in the food-centric city of Durham, NC with her 2 cats who would rather not live together, a duet of dogs with belly rub addictions, her very own picky eater, and more slow cookers than one person should be allowed to own.
She's the author of The Vegan Slow Cooker, The Great Vegan Bean Book, Vegan Slow Cooking for Two or Just for You, and is hard at work on book number 4 that comes out fall of 2014. All of her books have simple recipes that have variations to fit in many special diets and change with the seasons.
Kathy believes that plant-based food can be delicious, easy to make, and doesn't have to bust your budget. She's been meatless for over 30 years and believes that it keeps getting easier.
She has a blog for her vegan food experiments called Healthy Slow Cooking and writes a vegan column for Key Ingredient, in addition to her monthly column here at The Weiser Kitchen.
