Ras Al Hanout, Sweet with Heat

We love this version of ras al hanout in sophisticated cookies and creamy dessert sauces. The combination of sweet and heat will tickle your tongue.


5 tablespoons ground cinnamon

3 tablespoons ground allspice

2 tablespoons dried ground ginger

1 tablespoon ground white pepper

2 teaspoons ground green cardamom

1 teaspoon ground black cardamom

1 teaspoon dried ground galangal

1 teaspoon ground mace

1 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1 teaspoon ground anise seed

1 teaspoon cayenne pepper

¾ teaspoon lavender, crushed or ground

¾ teaspoon rosebuds, crushed or ground

½ teaspoon ground coriander seeds


  1. Combine the spices in a medium bowl. Mix well. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 months.
